Jesse Maggard, LPC

It is easy to admire the strength it takes to climb the mountain, but few people see or value the strength it takes to climb out of the abyss, and back to level ground. This is often true, even for those who are escaping the deepest of pits. It is vital, then, that people learn to celebrate every step of progress they make. This is what creates hope, which is the prerequisite for change. We are built for growth, and our ability to change and to heal is staggering when we understand exactly what our brain, body, and heart are capable of.

My foundation as a therapist begins with Gestalt, the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts, though it has been updated and informed over time with Mindfulness practices, CBT, and modern neurology. I believe not only in providing the support that people need to heal, but also the knowledge in how to direct the process themselves.
